The Bar Coded Boarding Pass (BCBP) Implementation Guide provides technical guidance on how to implement BCBP.
The transition to bar coded boarding passes will save airlines over US$ 500 million every year. Bar coded boarding passes offer more flexibility for passengers as they can check-in and receive their boarding pass before arriving at the airport. Airports will have more flexibility to use existing check-in desk space to improve passenger service levels.
