Demand for air freight is slowing at an unprecedented pace. IATA e-freight offers the air cargo supply chain an opportunity to lower costs and provide faster, more reliable airfreight to its customers.
Each international airfreight shipment can require more than 30 different paper documents – increasing cost and lengthening transport times. IATA e-freight is an industry-wide initiative involving airlines, freight forwarders, ground handlers, shippers, customs brokers and customs authorities. It replaces paper documents with electronic messages, saving the industry up to US$4.9 billion every year.
IATA e-freight local adoption meetings provide you with the opportunity to see first-hand how e-freight works. Participants will be able to:
- Gain an in-depth understanding of the e-freight product
- Create a step-by-step e-freight adoption plan for their organisation
- Hear lessons learned from companies who have already adopted paper-free air cargo
- Network with the local air cargo supply chain
- Dialogue with IATA e-freight experts
