The StB Extranet is cleaning house
The StB extranet will be simplified. Do you have the files you need? As part of the program’s efforts to better manage information, individual airline folders containing the information below will be deleted from the extranet on July 8:
- Answers provided to StB campaigns
- E-ticketing data (ET, IET and MPD reports)
- BIP reports
- Fast Travel reports
- CEO reports
MIP reports will however continue to be available on the StB extranet.
A new extranet page has been set up for airline MPD reports. To access, please send an email to eticket@iata.org.
StB success at the IATA AGM
In a time when Simplifying the Business is more relevant than ever, the program was more visible than ever at this year’s AGM. Four organisations – IATA, Malaysia Airlines, Malaysia Airports and SITA – worked together to showcase StB at both KL International Airport and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
At KL International airport, the focus is on how StB makes life easier for travellers. A booth located at the entrance to the departures hall displays all StB initiatives, and shows the steps passengers can take to experience faster and more convenient travel. Throughout the airport live StB services are highlighted- from self-boaridng to BCBP acceptance at security.
The StB airport showcase will run through the end of the year – so check it out if you’re travelling through Kuala Lumpur! More information is available here.
At the hotel, an StB demonstration allowed AGM attendees, including CEOs, to experience first-hand:
- The ease of getting a bar coded boarding pass on a Blackberry
- How to print out baggage tags and tag bags themselves, using a self-service kiosk
- How to self-board an aircraft using a 2D barcode scanner
- Using a kiosk to log missing bag claims, and getting a record of a claim on a mobile phone
“This is the first time people were able to experience StB at an AGM,” says Philippe Bruyère, Director Passenger and StB. “Even though StB has been around for five years, the enthusiasm with which AGM attendees, journalists and the travelling public have greeted the displays was remarkable and very encouraging for the program.”
