This particular course follows on from the foundation course and is designed for airline management personnel. This course is one of the elements in the total ASTP, which consists of:

  • Foundation Course for all Staff
  • Flight Deck and Cabin Crew

  • Airline Management

Designed for

Selected airline staff at supervisory or management level within the company who are either responsible for the implementation of security measures or are required to be aware of such measures.


Course Content

  • Understand the evolution of the threat against aviation and the need for effective counter measures
  • Describe the minimum legislative requirements needed to establish a coordinated civil aviation security programme
  • Use the appropriate reference documentation to assist in the implementation of security programmes and procedures
  • Recognize the basic measures applied to ensure protection of civil aviation
  • Participate in the development and implementation of appropriate Contingency Plans
  • Manage the airline response to security incidents or major security emergencies
    Implement a quality control programme through regular testing and exercising of plans and procedures
  • Understand the implications of security on design of new facilities
    Implement a Human Resource
  • Management scheme to ensure standards of implementation of security measures are maintained implement the relevant contents of an Airline Security Programme
Prerequisite(s)
Trainees should be at supervisory or management level within the airline and have successfully completed the ATSP/Airlines 123:
