Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance

IATA considers design, certification and airworthiness issues and promotes optimal means of improvig safety, reliability and productivity in aircraft engineering. It establishes guidelines on engineering best practice and the standardisation of technology.

The IATA Engineering & Maintenance Group (EMG) assists and supports the Operations Committee (OPC) in all matters relating to optimising engineering and maintenance measures to improve safety, reliability and productivity.

The objectives of Maintenance Programme Optimisation are as follows:

  • To develop IATA guidance material for maintenance programme optimization.
  • To review the Maintenance Review Board Report ( MRBR) revision process timeline with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and identify improvement opportunities.
  • To accelerate data collection from operators to support MRBR revision process e-procurement.
