Flight Operations


IATA works with Members and stakeholders to identify and resolve industry problems related to flight operations. This includes analysis of flight operations data, formulation and promotion of IATA operational strategies, quality assurance matters and maintenance of the airline Operational Information Exchange. IATA represents its Members at numerous ICAO and World Meteorological Organization technical panels and study groups on these topic.

IATA's role regarding Flight Operations is to develop and promote policies and practices regarding the safe and effective operation of aircraft. IATA Flight Operations team participates in a number of ICAO technical panels and manage a series of workgroups:
 
IATA Flight Operations Group (FOG)
The FOG deals with all matters related to safe and efficient flight and ground operations, such as operational requirements, standardisation of new technology, meteorology.  It includes four taskforces:
  • FOG SCAP Task Force 
  • Meteorological Task Force
  • Flight Crew Training Task Force
  • Aircraft Performance Task Force

IATA FOG Information Exchange (FOG IE)
FOG IE enables FOG members to quickly and confidentially exchange information on any matter with technical implications, from which lessons are learned or for which corrective measures are taken.
