Cargo Security

Cargo Security is a new function integral to IATA Cargo. The function maintains a strong relationship with IATA Security and Facilitation.

The Cargo Security mission is “To simplify cargo security by developing an integrated solution that involves all key supply chain stakeholder groups and is proportionate to the threat, effective, harmonized and sustainable.”

Broadly speaking our activity streams are: 

• Providing industry leadership for regulatory and policy development.
• Formulating and presenting industry positions.
• Developing and maintaining a global supply chain governance structure. 
• Promoting and supporting industry stakeholder consultation.
• Developing a Supply Chain Security Quality Assurance System to compliment Security Management Systems (SEMS) and the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA).
