The Financial Committee is one of IATA's six permanent Standing Committees, reporting to the Board of Governors through the Strategy and Policy Committee. The Committee acts as an advisor to the Board of Governors and the Director General on all financial matters connected with international air transport.
The Committee delegates much of its ongoing work related to cost control to expert Panels, Task Forces and Working Groups. The Committee also delegates the management of many Financial Services to the IATA Secretariat.
The Committee meets twice each year. Membership consists of 25 representatives elected from among Chief Financial Officers of IATA Member Airlines. Representatives of IATA's Industry Associates may also attend parts of Financial Committee meetings as observers.
